Bring Mitzie To Your Guild or Group

Hi there! I'm Mitzie Schafer, the maker behind Jittery Wings Quilt Co. I'm a modern quilter, pattern designer, and teacher making quilts under the big Carolina country sky in Newberry, South Carolina. Quilting found me in 2016 after a health diagnosis changed my life, and it has been one of the greatest gifts I've ever received.

At Jittery Wings, everything I do is rooted in building confidence and making quilting feel accessible, joyful, and worth showing up for. My two signature teaching frameworks — Color Flow Theory and Controlled Improv — grew out of my own struggle to find clear processes that actually worked. I developed them because I needed them, and now I love nothing more than sharing them with quilters who are ready to grow.

I believe quilting should be colorful, forgiving, community based, and full of discovery. No one should leave a class feeling more confused than when they started. That is not how we do things at Jittery Wings.

Why Zoom Works

All of my guild offerings are delivered live via Zoom — and I genuinely love this format. Everyone gets the same experience whether they're down the street or across the country. Your members in South Carolina and your members in Oregon are all equally present, equally supported, and equally able to ask questions in real time. I also LOVE that members get to sew right in their own sewing rooms. No packing up. No forgetting anything. And, because so many of my quilts need “all the colors,” they can just grab more options from their stash if they don’t like the pull they gathered before the workshop.

Guild coordinators receive my Zoom link and all pre-class materials well in advance so your members can show up ready.

It's Easy to Book
