Supply List + Prep

Format: 4-Day Retreat

Level: All Levels Welcome

Instructor: Mitzie Schafer

What's Provided

Art Gallery Fabrics Pure Solids Chip Box

  • I will provide you with a 2'x4'(ish) sturdy table. In some cases, there will be two machines at a much longer table.

  • Drop cords

  • A basic metal folding chair. You may want to bring a cushion or your own chair.

  • An adjustable desk lamp for evening sewing. The studio is very bright during the day.

  • 8 cutting stations for 16 people to share

  • 8 pressing stations with irons for 16 people to share (Our electrical grid can’t really handle additional irons)

  • Large design walls will be located all around the studio for use.

  • A full box of 200+ color chips from the Art Gallery Fabrics Pure Solids collection, each labeled with its product number to help you curate your own bundle after the Color Flow Theory Lesson during the first 2 hours.

  • You will curate (with my help if you'd like) your own 24-piece Fat Quarter Bundle from my stash at no extra charge. If you'd like additional fabric, you may purchase that separately.

  • You will be able to select your desired Jittery Wings quilt pattern.

  • A complete lesson on the color flow process I use to select colors for my quilts. This will happen between 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm on Wednesday to get us kicked off together.

  • A printed copy of my Color Flow Theory Workbook.

Other Notes

Remember that food, lodging, and transportation are on your own.

I have a small microwave and fridge in the studio (no freezer). I have a Kureg and some basic options.

There are several places to walk to and eat right here downtown. DURING THE LAST RETREATS...many of us found a place to all eat together or order out together for lunches and dinners. We can certainly try that again. Our group is a bit larger this time. For some places, like Tiny Paris, you will need a reservation. This is a small town, and it runs a bit on small-town time, which I honestly love!

Questions before class?

If you're unsure about anything — feel free to email with questions.

No one should leave guessing, and that starts before you even arrive.
