Tambo Star Quilt Along Making Strip Blocks

Welcome to Week 2 of the Tambo Star Quilt Along. This week we make our strip blocks.

I have created a video outlining:

• How to match your colors

• How to cut your blocks so they are square

• How to lay your blocks out as you prepare for laying out your quilt.

Note that the section on matching colors for your strip blocks also applies to matching colors for your Quarter Square Triangles.

There isn’t much to this week, but I feel it is essential to press those seams open. It will help your blocks lay flat. You may have trouble with the size because how scant your scant seams were. I explain that in the video if you need help getting your blocks trimmed to the right size.

I really enjoy this block…the straight lines give my brain time to disengage from all that is happening in life and in the world.
